Dr. Naila Althagafi
Hailing from Makkah, Dr. Naila Althagafi is the program curator, and the founder of The Retreat, a company dedicated to enriching women’s spiritual journeys through meticulously crafted Umrah pilgrimages and reflective retreats rooted in the prophetic tradition and in excellence (Ihsan). Born into a long lineage of Mutawefeen—caretakers of pilgrims in the holy lands—her earliest experiences stem from her family’s generational service during Hajj. A filmmaker and a storyteller, Dr. Althagafi holds an MFA in Film & Media and a PhD in Public Relations from Purdue University, alongside with a certification as a Saudi tour guide, from the Ministry of Tourism in Saudi Arabia.With her experience in convert care and organizing spiritually immersive retreats, she blends practical guidance, cultural wisdom, and profound historical insights to create transformative journeys to pilgrims. Her passion for amplifying Muslim women’s narratives through film and research further enriches her holistic approach, ensuring every journey she curates is both deeply personal and authentically rooted in the islamic tradition and in the heritage of the holy lands.

Dr. Jinan Yousef
Dr. Yousef brings unmatched knowledge and enthusiasm. She has studied at Cambridge Islamic College, she is a lecturer and a writer for Tawasaw Institute and a Senior Fellow at Yaqeen Institute, USA. Currently, she studies tafsir and hadith at Al-Salam Institute and teaches classes online on the names of Allah for Suhaib Webb Institute for Sacred Sciences. Dr. Jinan Yousef has been an author for over a decade, and most recently published the book, "Reflecting on the Names of Allah" (Al-Buruj Press, 2020) and the "99 Names of Allah" guided journal (Towards Faith, 3rd ed; 2023).
Dr. Yousef's commitment to helping Muslims connect with Allah through a profound understanding of His names makes her an inspiring leader for this retreat.
